Support
Hobbs is a small operation, and a person reads every message. If something is wrong with your logbook, say so — logbook problems go to the front of the queue.

Scanning a paper page
Photograph one page flat, in even light, with all four corners in the frame. A phone camera held straight above the page is enough — Hobbs corrects for a moderate angle, but a page shot across a table at 45° loses the columns on the far side.
- Every field carries a confidence score. Anything Hobbs is unsure of is flagged in orange and waits for you. Nothing is written to your logbook until you confirm it.
- The page checks its own arithmetic. Hobbs totals the flights it read and compares them to the printed Page Totals line in your own handwriting. If they disagree, it tells you which column is off rather than silently accepting the reading.
- A two-page spread works. Photograph the open logbook and Hobbs splits it into left and right halves before reading.
- If a scan returns nothing, the page edges were probably lost against a patterned surface. Re-shoot it on a plain background and it will read.
I didn't get my confirmation email
Check spam first. If it is not there, open Hobbs and use Resend on the banner at the top of the screen — it will also tell you if the send itself failed, in which case emailing us is the fastest fix. If you signed in with Apple, there is nothing to confirm: Apple has already verified your address for us.
Flying without a signal
Logging a flight works with no connectivity at all. Entries are saved on the device and sync themselves when you land somewhere with a signal — you do not need to keep the app open. Scanning a paper page does need a connection, because the reading happens on our servers.
Getting your hours out
Everything you log is exportable at any time — PDF, CSV or Excel from the Totals screen, and a complete machine-readable copy of your entire account from Settings → Privacy & data → Export my data. That second one is free on every plan, including free accounts, and it always will be. Your logbook is not held hostage to a subscription.
Currency and recency
Hobbs tracks your medical, flight review, night and instrument recency against the rules you select for your jurisdiction, and warns you before they lapse rather than after. It is a tool to help you stay on top of your own currency — always confirm against the regulations that apply to you. Hobbs is not a certifying authority.
Plans and billing
- Free — the whole logbook, unlimited flights, totals, currency and map, plus 2 paper-scan pages so you can try the import on your own logbook.
- Pro — US$9.99 / mo, 15 scan pages a month, exports and automatic flight import.
- Max — US$39.99 / mo, unlimited scanning, for migrating a whole career in one sitting.
Manage or cancel a subscription any time from the plan card in Settings — Manage subscription opens the payment portal. Cancelling never removes anything you have logged.
Deleting your account
Settings → Privacy & data → Delete my account. This erases your flights, your profile and your uploaded page scans, and anonymizes the account. Export your data first if you want to keep a copy — deletion is not reversible. A logbook is a record you cannot reprint, so please be sure.
Reporting a problem
Tell us what you were doing, what you expected, and what happened instead. If you can add:
- the email address on the account,
- the device you were using, and whether it was the app or a web browser,
- the date of the flight or the page you were scanning,
…we can usually find it on the first reply instead of the third.
Security
If you believe you have found a vulnerability, email security@loghobbs.com with the details and give us a reasonable chance to fix it before disclosing it. We will not take legal action against good-faith research.
