Brand
The palette, type and tone Hobbs is drawn in. This page exists so that anything reading the site without running JavaScript — a link unfurler, a search crawler, an AI tool asked to make something on-brand — gets the real values rather than guessing them from a screenshot.
How it should feel
Hobbs reads as a quiet cockpit instrument panel: dark-only, deep slate surfaces rather than pure black, a single gold accent, and alerts in exactly one orange — always paired with a word, never colour alone. Closer to ForeFlight's seriousness than to a consumer app.
Colour
- Gold accent — #C9A15A. One gold element per view; never a field of it.
- Page background — #0D0C0F, a warm near-black. Never flat #000.
- Brand base black — #0A0B0D, the deepest surface, used behind the mark.
- Card surface — #17161B
- Headings — #F0ECE4; body text #C9C4BC; muted #9C958A
- Chrome — #EDEFF1 / #9AA1A6 / #40454A, the metal the mark is drawn in.
- Alert — #CC3F0C, and nothing else. No second warning colour, no loud green for "OK".
Type
- Montserrat — the wordmark and marketing headlines.
- Inter — everything in the interface, and all body copy.
- B612 Mono — technical numerals only: registrations, identifiers, logbook figures. Never body text.
Voice
Precise, calm, understated, aviation-literate; never hyped. Say the specific thing rather than the impressive-sounding one — "reads every field with a confidence score" beats "AI-powered". Numbers and limits are stated plainly, including the unflattering ones.
- Name — Hobbs
- Tagline — Smart Pilot's Logbook
- Operated by — 10265008 MANITOBA LTD., Winnipeg, Canada
The mark
The chrome H in a roundel with a gold jet tracing its arc. It is used as drawn — never redrawn, recoloured, rotated or re-laid-out, and never below about 40 px, where the chrome bevel stops reading.
